Domonique Brown is a contemporary Pop artist from Pomona, California. Brown creates energetic portraits that defy traditional pictorial representation. As an illustrator she works from the ground up, layering marker and acrylic strokes until she carves out a colorful portrait. As a graphic designer, she switches to her alter ego of being minimalist.

Brown’s art decorates much more than her house. What started as a hobby during her time in college has now blossomed into a full business. DomoINK is not a side hustle for Domonique. “This business consumes so much of my time. I started my now growing business out of my parent’s kitchen. I was baking custom earrings and pins with people’s faces out of Shrinky Dinks at the beginning. Eventually, I got the courage to sell my art, although it is still time consuming. I live and breathe my art. I have a lot on my agenda. I’m running my own social media, replying to emails, and still drawing. When you contact or order from DomoINK, it’s all me.

DomoINK isn’t just an art print store. The shop sells apparel, home decor, and accessories. I wanted to offer it “all,” whether it’s art for your walls...decor for your home...cases and stickers for your tech...apparel for your closet… or, outdoor and lifestyle goods for anywhere else.

She lets her culture and experiences as a black woman shine through her work in the hopes others can see representation for their experiences and feel empowered. In her art, she seeks to represent the beauty and vibrance of women and men of color and fill the homes of said women and men, so that they can feel represented in those spaces.

Her skill sets and background varies widely with the underlying theme of creativity. She received her AA in graphic design, BS in public relations from Cal Poly Pomona, and a MBA in marketing from Cal State Dominguez Hills.
